Warszawa University was established 1816. It is the largest Polish university with 62 000 students in 18 faculties.
The Faculty of Psychology at Warsaw University is rated number one among psychology departments in Poland. At present the number of students at the Faculty exceeds 1500. The Psychology Studies in English provide a high quality of education both for foreign students and for Polish students fluent in English. In order to ensure the most up-to-date education, the team of lecturers is composed of at least 30% of foreign lecturers, invited from universities and research institutes in Europe and North America.
The 5-year programme is designed to provide
students with a solid background in psychology and the methodology of social sciences and, at the same time, to let students shape an education path closest to their interests. Obligatory core courses comprise only about 30% of the course total, the rest are selected from a wide range of electives and specialization courses. Courses in the Faculty of Psychology are assigned credits in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System as proposed by the European Union. In their fourth and fifth years students participate in a Masters seminar, which culminates in the Masters defence. The defence of the Masters Thesis is the final condition for receiving the Master of Arts Degree in Psychology.
